The IEEE Region 10 Educational Activities Challenge is back!

IEEE Region 10 Educational Activities Committee (EAC) invites members to submit proposals for Educational programs/activities focus on
1) Pre-University Education
2) University Education
• To encourage innovative and creative programs which provide values to IEEE members and in alignment with IEEE goals.
• To raise the awareness of IEEE mission and vision among the community.
• To encourage the exploration and utilisation of IEEE resources.
• To encourage collaboration between IEEE units.
• Educational outcomes of the proposed program
• Alignment with IEEE goals
• Scalability and Sustainability of the proposal
• Metrics or measurement of Success and Impact of the proposed program
• The utilisation of IEEE resources
• Support and collaboration with IEEE Organization Units (OU)
The winning entries will receive the following prizes to be used as seed funding for piloting the program in either 1) Pre-University Education, or, 2) University Education
• Winner (Pre-University Education) – USD 500
• Runner-up (Pre-University Education) – USD 300
• Winner (University Education) – USD 500
• Runner-up (University Education) – USD 300
An additional amount of up to USD200 may be awarded to the above programs based on the report and success of the programs.
Terms and Conditions
1. Winners and runner-up are required to submit an interim report and a final report by 31 August 2019 and 30 November 2019 respectively.
2. The proposal shall contain the following information:
• Executive Summary of the program (maximum 300 words)
• Introduction and description of the activities including anticipated expenses.
• How does the program align with IEEE goals and effective use of IEEE resources
• Scalability and Sustainability of the program
• Measurement or Assessment of the Educational Outcomes and Impact of the program to the participants and community

4. The proposal must be endorsed by Section Educational Activities (EA) Chair. In case there is no EA Chair in the Section, R10 EA strongly encourages Section or OU to set up this position.
5. The Section or OU endorser information need to be included together with the proposal.
1) The Objectives of the IEEE Region 10 Educational Activities Committee (EAC) is to implement programs specifically intended to serve and benefit IEEE members in educational pursuits, the engineering and scientific community and the general public in Asia and Pacific Region.
2) The purpose of the IEEE Education Activities Committee is to recommend policies on educational matters and implements programs specifically intended to serve the educational pursuits of IEEE members, the engineering and scientific communities, and the general public. Link.
3) The core purpose of IEEE is to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE’s vision is to become essential to the global technical community and to technical professionals everywhere and be universally recognized for the contributions of technology and of technical professionals in improving global conditions. 4) The IEEE Strategic Plan is a vital part of the ongoing evolution of IEEE. The Plan provides a clear picture of IEEE as an organization, the goals our community is pursuing, and the initiatives that will move IEEE forward in the coming years. Link.
5) IEEE Educational Activities has assembled a variety of resources for pre-university teachers, school counsellors, parents, and students. These resources are intended to provide guidance on locating additional information on engineering and engineering careers. Link.
6) It should be noted there are a wealth of resources in the IEEE environment serving the spectrum of community and proposers are encouraged to utilise them as much as possible. Examples are IEEE Reach Link |
7) The proposers are strongly encouraged to implement their programs with or without support from this challenge. They should consider alternative sources of funding and supports from IEEE and other venues. They may also consider the submission of their programs for awards and competitions.
